Details: A large and classic example of a 17th century bronze image of possibly the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. The bodhisattva is seated in Dhyanasana with his right hand in Vitarkamudra holding a small spoon and his left hand at his navel holding an ambrosia vessel. His gilded bare chest is adorned with cascading bejeweled necklaces save for a long layered robe with foliate borders draped over his shoulders and fanning past the legs in even folds. Details: A rare gilded 18th century Chinese repousse image of Sakyamuni Buddha. Buddha is depicted standing on an attractive and unusual quadruple lotus pedestal with an expression of blissful and compassionate wisdom.
