Details: A beautiful and alluring example of an 11th century Pala White Tara probably from Kurkihar or Nalanda in Bihar. The voluptuous proportions of Tara's fully revealed figure reflect the full perfect body of youth and vitality. Her heavy regal ornaments stand out against her smooth, languorous form. Tara’s head supports rich locks of hair and the heavy crown of a Bodhisattva once inset with precious gems above her attractive face. SOLD

Details: A worn but wonderfully sensuous example of a partly gilt Khmer figure of either Lakshami, Uma or Prajnaparamita. Unfortunately, the figure is too worn to make out any iconographic details on her crown and is lacking her hands which would have held some identifiable attributes. She is heavily jeweled and wearing her classically Baphuon style pleated sampot dipping below her navel, which accentuates her voluptuous sensual figure. Her face is seductive with full lips, almond eyes and achi ...click for details

The holder of the thunderbolt scepter and conqueror of negativity brandishes a vajra in an exorcising gesture in his right hand, and with his left hand makes the threatening gesture with his index finger pointed up. His taut posture is the active warrior pose (pratayalidha, based on an archer’s stance) to show a terrifying readiness to do battle with evil. He has flaming red hair, t ...click for details
